Spotlights & Track Lighting
Track spotlights are modular lighting luminaires positioned on an electrified track and can be directed at the desired angle. Having a wide range of applications from retail stores to museums, from architectural spaces to office corridors, track spotlight systems are the fundamental solution for professional projects thanks to their advantages of flexible positioning, modular expandability, and high-quality accent lighting.
Reference values: 3000K-4000K colour temperature · 800-2000 lux accent lighting · CRI ≥ 90 · 15°-60° beam angle range · 50,000-hour L80 lifetime
What Are Track Spotlights?
Track spotlight systems consist of two main components: an electrified track and spotlight luminaires that can be relocated along the track with a "plug-and-play" mechanism. Each luminaire can be positioned at any point on the track, its aiming angle can be adjusted independently, and when no longer required, it can be removed and relocated to another position. This modular structure is the fundamental difference from traditional fixed downlight systems.

Applications of Track Spotlights
- Retail stores: Shop window, mannequin, and merchandise shelf highlighting — luminaires are repositioned as seasons change
- Museums and art galleries: CRI 95+ special LED formulations, precise aiming, individual artwork illumination
- Showrooms and exhibition spaces: Display of high-quality products such as furniture, automobiles, and jewellery
- Restaurants and cafés: Dramatic accent lighting for tables and bar counters
- Architectural spaces: Lobby, atrium, and corporate headquarters accent lighting
- Office corridors: Modern minimalist office lighting
Track Types and System Variations
Track spotlights operate on three different track systems:
- Single-circuit track: One circuit, all luminaires switch on/off simultaneously. For small stores and boutiques.
- Three-circuit track: Luminaires grouped on separate circuits can be controlled independently. For shopping malls and large retail stores.
- 48V magnetic track: Low-voltage, slim-profile system prioritising architectural aesthetics.

Technical Criteria and Selection Guide
CRI and Colour Accuracy
In retail applications, a CRI ≥ 90 is the minimum requirement for track spotlights; CRI 95+ is preferred for luxury fashion and jewellery projects. Target values are R9 (red rendering) ≥ 50 and R15 (skin tone rendering) ≥ 80.
Colour Temperature
3000K warm white: luxury fashion, jewellery; 3500K warm neutral: contemporary retail; 4000K neutral white: offices, cosmetic testing areas; 5000K+: museums and technical spaces.
Beam Angle
15°-25° narrow beam: product highlighting, mannequin lighting; 25°-36°: medium accent lighting; 36°-60°: general lighting, wide coverage. In professional track spotlights, interchangeable lens systems enable different beam angle options within a single luminaire.
Driver and Dimming
Flicker-free driver, DALI-2 or TRIAC dimming support, and 50,000-hour driver lifetime are standard in professional products.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum order quantity for track spotlights?
There is no minimum order quantity for our standard catalogue products; supply is possible from a single luminaire to thousands of luminaires. For custom colours or optical configurations, the typical MOQ is 50-100 units.
Can I install a different brand luminaire on my existing track system?
Technically possible, but not recommended. Each manufacturer has a different adapter mechanism; incompatibility or safety risks may occur. Using a single manufacturer's system throughout the project is critical for SDCM consistency, warranty coverage, and service support.
What is the lifetime of a track spotlight?
In professional models, an L80 50,000-hour lifetime is the standard; this corresponds to approximately 11 years of operation at 12 hours of daily use. Premium series are certified for L90 50,000 hours.
Is an additional driver required for DALI dimming?
No. Our DALI-2 compatible track spotlights are supplied from the factory with integrated DALI drivers; no additional dimming module is required. Only a DALI gateway and management software need to be installed.
Can you provide a special CRI value for museum projects?
Yes. Special binned LED formulations with CRI 97+ and R9 90+ are developed in our R&D laboratory. UV/IR filtered optics are designed not to damage valuable paintings, textile artworks, and photographs.
